A Learn to Dance ‘Did-you-know?’ – Quickstep is an International Style ballroom dance that follows a 2/4 or 4/4 time beat, similar to a fast Foxtrot. An example of a song suitable for the classic quickstep would be “Louis Prima’s “Sing, Sing, Sing”. However, while the dance may appear very similar to a fast Foxtrot, its technique and patterns are distinct. The Quickstep followed hot on the heels of the Foxtrot as people began to dance the ‘Quick’ Foxtrot. Owing a lot of it’s more advanced hops and kicks to the Charleston the Quickstep is fun, lively and energetic. A popular dance with almost all dancers.

A Learn to Dance ‘Did-you-know?’ – Foxtrot when people think of foxtrot, they associate it with smooth dancing. This is a favorite among men because the dance is simply like walking or strolling. The foxtrot is a ballroom dance named after its originator, Harry Fox, who developed the dance in 1914 for his vaudeville act. The original version is quite fast, and is actually more similar to the Quickstep as it is now judged in International ballroom competitions.
