A Learn to Dance 'Did-you-know?' - Quickstep is an International Style ballroom dance that follows a 2/4 or 4/4 time beat, similar to a fast Foxtrot. An example of a song suitable for the classic quickstep would be "Louis Prima's "Sing, Sing, Sing". However, while the dance may appear very similar to a fast Foxtrot, its technique and patterns are distinct. The Quickstep followed hot on the heels of the Foxtrot as people began to dance the 'Quick' Foxtrot. Owing a lot of it's more advanced hops and kicks to the Charleston the Quickstep is fun, lively and energetic. A popular dance with almost all dancers.

A Learn to Dance 'Did-you-know?' - Cha cha – this is said to be the youngest Latin dance in the country but it is easily one of the most popular. The name "cha-cha" first appeared in Haiti, where it was the name of a component of a bell. This bell was made from a plat that made a "cha-cha" noise when rubbed. Haitians quickly learned to use the bell element as an instrument to keep time as well. The "cha-cha" was, therefore, probably the first metronome to hit Haiti. The cha-cha was actually created from the mambo, when it toured America. Several audiences complained that the mambo was too fast and jerky for their taste. Orchestras began slowing it down, and the cha-cha was created from this new beat.
